Franz Albert Nürnberger I. (1826-1894), founder of the well-known Bogenbauwerkstatt, which is known today under the name ALBERT NÜRNBERGER, was also a founding member and for many years master-general in Markneukirchen. Through his father and teacher Carl Gottlob (pupil of F.C. Knopf) he was well acquainted with the old German bow making tradition. His son, Franz Albert Nürnberger II (1854-1931) took over the workshop and brought it to world fame. Later this was successfully continued by his sons Phillip Paul (1882-1946) and Carl Albert (1885-1971).
